Pediatrics
Pediatricians are physicians concerned with the physical, emotional,
and social health of children from birth to young adulthood. They provide care
encompassing a broad spectrum of health services ranging from preventive health cafe to
the diagnosis and treatment of acute and chronic diseases. Because a child's welfare is
heavily dependent on the home and the family, pediatricians support efforts to create a
nurturing environment. Such support includes education about healthy living and
anticipatory guidance for both patients and parents. They participate at the community
level in preventing or solving problems in child healthcare and publicly advocate the
causes of children.
