Nurse Anesthetist

Under general direction. Nurse Anesthetists perform a variety of professional duties, such as administering anesthetics to surgical and obstetrics patients; reviews patient data to determine the equipment, anesthetic and method of administration; obtains supplies and assembles equipment, informs the patient regarding anesthesia procedures, observes, monitors and documents the anesthetized patients condition; initiates remedial measures in response to patients condition; keeps current regarding methods and techniques. Maintains a clean, orderly and safe facility. Performs other related duties requested by authorized personnel. The care provided to each patient is specific to the patients particular physical, age-specific and psychosocial needs. The patient population served by Nurse Anesthetists includes neonate, infant, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric.
